Investment Tracker is a personal hobby project built to help individuals track and visualize their own investment portfolios. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about the minimal data we collect and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address via Google OAuth (managed by NextAuth.js). We do not receive or store your Google password, and we do not store any financial account numbers or brokerage credentials. The investment data you enter (holdings, quantities, purchase prices) is stored in our database solely to power your personal portfolio view.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your name and email are used exclusively to authenticate your session and display a personalised welcome message in the header. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app for you.

3. Payments

If you choose to support this project, all payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your credit card or banking details — these are handled entirely by Stripe under their own Privacy Policy.

4. Analytics

We may use Vercel Analytics to collect aggregate, anonymised page-view counts (e.g. how many people visit the app per week). This data contains no personal identifiers and is used only to understand usage patterns and improve the app.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers strictly necessary to operate the app (Google for authentication, Stripe for optional payments, Vercel for hosting).

6. Data Deletion

If you would like your account and all associated data permanently deleted, please email us at investtrackerca@gmail.com. We will process your request within 30 days.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
